Vine Dieback on Passion Fruit
Commonly affects: Passiflora edulis (Passion Fruit)
Sections of vine turn brown and die back from the tip, sometimes progressing toward the main stem, while other parts of the plant remain healthy.
Potential Causes
- 1Fungal stem canker infections entering through pruning wounds or damage

Solution Steps
- 1Prune back dead sections to healthy, green tissue using clean, sterilised tools
- 2Check root health if dieback is widespread rather than isolated to storm or cold-damaged sections
- 3Protect vines from cold snaps with frost cloth in marginal climates
- 4Apply a fungicide to pruning wounds in disease-prone areas
