No New Shoots Emerging From ZZ Plant Rhizome

The plant appears to sit unchanged for a very long period with no new shoots emerging from the soil, even though existing stems look healthy.
Potential Causes
- 1Naturally very slow, sporadic growth pattern, where new shoots can take many months to appear even in healthy plants
- 2Insufficient light limiting the energy available for new shoot production
- 3A rhizome that's still relatively young or small and building up energy reserves before producing new growth
Solution Steps
- 1Be patient, since new ZZ Plant shoots can genuinely take 6 months to a year to appear even under good care
